Never Mind the To Do List - Here‘s the Don’t List when it comes to selling your home

Don’t neglect your outdoor space…If you are lucky to be selling your home with a garden or a private balcony ensure that it is boosting the attractiveness of your home to would be buyers. If lockdown taught us anything it is the value of having access to an outdoor space. In our experience, an attractive garden or balcony is a “must have” on many buyers’ check lists for their next home. It’s a fabulous attribute – don’t neglect it. Research shows that attractive outdoor space with a home adds considerable value.

If you’ve got one flaunt it!

Here’s a few tips on selling your home:
First step; have a peek out your window and take a good hard look. What do you see?

Is your garden or balcony a welcoming outside space where the buyer can really visualise spending time?

Is there somewhere to sit comfortably, a little table for a drink if possible, plenty of greenery and maybe some colour? Luckily, now is a great time of year for venturing into the outdoors. As spring approaches it‘s easier to add a pot of colourful spring flowers to bring any space to life.

If you are lucky enough to have a garden, is there somewhere to play? An outside play area for the kids is top of any young families must haves.

Second step; if the garden has become overgrown or neglected over winter, put aside a weekend, get the garden tools out and cut back any overgrown trees, hedges & shrubs, reveal it’s hidden beauty! It’ll be well be worth it to invest either your own time in sprucing it up or a getting a gardener around to take care of things. Also a gardener should be able to advise you on low maintenance solutions to achieve your goals.
